Product Owner

LOCATION: Canonsburg, Pennsylvania
<p><strong>This position is full time remote until we can safely open our offices. At that time this position is expected to work in our Canonsburg office.</strong></p> <p><strong>Overview:</strong> &nbsp;&nbsp;The Product Owner is the key business representative for a product: defining its vision, guiding its direction, and ultimately seeing its fit into the market. In the Agile product development process, the product owner explores and represents the business needs of the user community.&nbsp; As the liaison between the development team and customers, the product owner must collaborate closely with both groups.</p> <p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p>Overall, the Product Owner needs to take ownership of the product direction, and drive to meet the vision, sponsor goals, and user needs.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a firm understanding of the product’s vision to ensure both business and functional goals are met. This includes the product features and to what extent the functionality of each feature should be developed at each milestone;</li> <li>Work with product sponsor and stakeholders to define a clear product vision, market strategy, and target audience;</li> <li>Lead product discovery activities: story mapping, defining user personas, etc.;</li> <li>Work with sponsor, stakeholders, and customers to create the product backlog and define milestone releases;</li> <li>Prioritize and maintain the product backlog as circumstances, priorities, and requirements change;</li> <li>Represent the product vision to stakeholders and the development team;</li> <li>Work closely with and be available to the development team to answer any questions and clarify details and acceptance criteria as they work to develop the product;</li> <li>Manage stakeholder requests and communicate changes in direction, approach, or delivery dates. Ensure stakeholders are present to get feedback early and often;</li> <li>Accept or reject work results from the development team;</li> <li>Engage customers or users throughout the project, requesting feedback and adapting.&nbsp; Be passionate about the user experience;</li> <li>Facilitate and encourage the team’s creativity and innovation to find the best solutions;</li> <li>Brainstorm market opportunities to further monetize the product;</li> <li>Assist in the marketing strategy for the product;</li> <li>Create documentation as needed for the product;</li> <li>Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;</li> <li>Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and</li> <li>Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of Employer. &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Job Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare/specialty pharmacy related environment;</li> <li>Excellent visual and verbal communication skills;</li> <li>Ability to influence others to follow your direction;</li> <li>Ability to negotiate conflicting priorities with clients, users, stakeholders, the product sponsor, and the development team;</li> <li>Self-managed and self-directed and possess the discipline to keep work prepped for the development team while handling various other responsibilities;</li> <li>Ability to listen and synthesize information in order to make decisions that impact return on investment (ROI);</li> <li>Possess user empathy;</li> <li>Flexibility to adjust product features and their priority in an emergent environment;</li> <li>Ability to creatively address problems and opportunities. Maintain stable performance in light of tension or disagreement; and</li> <li>Experience in an Agile development process is a plus.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree required in a related area of Healthcare, Business, or IT; and</li> <li>Master’s degree preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time);</li> <li>Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;</li> <li>Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;</li> <li>Subject to inside environmental conditions; and</li> <li>Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.</li> </ul>
