Associate Scrum Master

LOCATION: Canonsburg, PA

<p><strong>Overview:</strong>&nbsp; The role of Associate Scrum Master helps building high performing agile scrum teams on multiple complex technology projects ranging from basic enhancements to complex enterprise strategic implementations. The Associate Scrum master works closely with the engineering team manager (SCRUM) during the estimation, refinement and planning process to define and plot the team’s work backlog. The associate scrum master plays a key role in contributing to a strong and effective agile practice in the teams.</p> <p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist and manage backlog grooming sessions with the team, ensuring work items are estimated, ready-for-work and maintained;</li> <li>Assist in driving continuous improvement through the facilitation of team and leadership retrospectives, ensuring teams effectively prioritize, plan and execute on improvement idea;</li> <li>Help managing release management, facilitate release planning activities, and risk to resolve issues and impediments;</li> <li>Take active participation in Team planning to make sure all the Features/PBIs are defined with required detailed information;</li> <li>Support driving &nbsp;team retrospectives and ensure key learning is incorporated into next sprint;</li> <li>Build trust and empowerment and creativity using sound judgement and excellent communications;</li> <li>Foster an agile culture, building trust and collaboration across all team members;</li> <li>Protect the team from outside interference, removing impediments, and ensuring that the work is delivered as a team;</li> <li>Help to monitor team project delivery on commitments through the use of burn-down&nbsp;charts and other visual methods;</li> <li>Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;</li> <li>Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position;</li> <li>Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company; and</li> </ul> <p>We reserve the right to change this job description from time to time as business needs dictate and will provide notice of such.</p> <p><strong>Job Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 1 year experience as a scrum master in an agile software development environment;</li> <li>Scrum Master Certification is required;</li> <li>Ability to support multiple teams; paired with a Manager</li> <li>Comfortable with ambiguity, open to change, working in a fluid fast-paced environment;</li> <li>Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. Scrum, Kanban), and basic understanding of software development life cycle models;</li> <li>Skilled at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques;</li> <li>Must have excellent written and oral communication skills; and</li> <li>Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Education:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Management required; and</li> <li>Scrum Master Certification is required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time);</li> <li>Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;</li> <li>Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;</li> <li>Subject to inside environmental conditions; and</li> <li>Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>The Company maintains a drug free work environment for all of its associates, which includes employees, contractors and vendors.
