Principal Software Engineer (.NET)

LOCATION: Canonsburg, PA
<p>The ideal Principal Software Engineer candidate is a person that strives to achieve excellence in architecting, designing, creating, testing, and ensuring the quality of large-scale or complex software for a major product or product line. The Principal Software Engineer will also be responsible for high-level research and analysis related to software design and development and will serve as a thought leader who mentors others and provides technical leadership.</p> <p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work proactively to understand domain (Healthcare) and technology trends that will impact/drive the architecture</li> <li>Mentor and support other team members, provide technical guidance across multiple products</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Work collaboratively to write high quality, testable code that meets the Definition of Done:</li> <li>Strive to meet team commitments</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Adopt a Test-First approach to software development, where possible, in developing tests before code</li> <li>Participate in design and code reviews with other engineers</li> <li>Use best software engineering practices to evolve the system design</li> <li>Perform unit/module testing of software</li> <li>Continuously evaluate software performance, identify performance degradation and opportunities to gain performance improvements valued by customers</li> <li>Actively support and contribute to sprint demos</li> <li>Support the early and continuous validation of features and stories with Customers, Analysts, and customer-facing teams to maximize the market value of the software delivered at each increment</li> <li>Work with stakeholders across the organization to understand business and customer requirements that drive the overall portfolio-architecture</li> <li>Responsible for assigned integration, testing, and deployment tasks. Investigate, design, and implement best-in-industry, innovative technologies that will expand Inovalon’s infrastructure through robust, scalable, adrenaline-fueled solutions;</li> <li>Provide product content to technical writers and review for technical accuracy</li> <li>Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections</li> <li>Take ownership of problems and continuously strive to become a better problem solver</li> <li>Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures, and mission statement;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Job Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 15 years of plus experience with Unix management, complex computing platforms, and/or emerging technologies involving virtualization, distribution, and high-performance computing;&nbsp;</li> <li>Strives to achieve excellence backed by robust architectural, system design and automation experience;</li> <li>Technology experience required: ASP.Net Core 2.1, Single Page Application development with Angular 7.0 or higher, Aurelia JavaScript Framework is a plus, Cloud Technologies, AWS, Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry is a plus, Domain Driven Design concepts, Microservices concepts, understanding of the Dev Ops process.</li> <li>Experience with the Agile methodology.</li> <li>Strong communication skills</li> <li>Leadership skills and ability</li> <li>Coaching and mentoring skills</li> <li>Experience with virtualization technologies required - You are driven to solve complex problems with scalable, elegant, and maintainable solutions;&nbsp;</li> <li>Expert troubleshooter – unwilling to let a problem defeat you; unrelenting, persistent, confident;&nbsp;</li> <li>A penchant for thinking outside the box to solve complex and exciting problems;&nbsp;</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies, and infrastructure operations; and&nbsp;</li> <li>Manage stressful situations with calm, courtesy, and confidence.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, technical field, or equivalent experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time);</li> <li>Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;</li> <li>Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;</li> <li>Subject to inside environmental conditions; and</li> <li>Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.</li> </ul> <p>CHJ21</p> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>By embracing diversity, equity and inclusion we enhance our work environment and drive business success.
