<p><strong>This role will allow some work from home flexibility provided the selected candidate is within a drivable distance to the Washington DC office (1201 New York Ave, NW Washington, DC)</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Project Accountant will serve as the point of contact regarding all accounting activities for assigned Practices. In this capacity, the Project Accountant will act as the project life cycle specialist to staff on contractual obligations, invoicing, revenue recognition and collections. The Project Accountant will need to have a flexible schedule as there will be periods of high demand with short deadlines especially around revenue recognition, invoicing and the annual audit.</p> <p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Timely and accurate processing of invoices per the requirements defined in contractual obligations;</li> <li>Responsible for resolving outstanding Accounts Receivable items;</li> <li>Perform project creation based on interpretation of Scopes of Work and/or Purchase Orders to assure accurate project revenue recognition and invoicing in accordance with authorized budget and project policies;</li> <li>Collaborate with project managers on maintaining project integrity in the Financial Management System;</li> <li>Maintain project-related records, including clients, contracts and change orders;</li> <li>Develop working relationships with assigned Practices, Account, and Finance and Accounting teams;</li> <li>Research any unbilled issues to optimize the billing possibilities for the billing period;</li> <li>Actively contribute to identifying and resolving process deficiencies;</li> <li>Assist in the execution of timely and accurate monthly closings;</li> <li>Provide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconcilement;</li> <li>Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;</li> <li>Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and</li> <li>Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Job Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 2 years of proven and progressive financial experience and or training preferred;</li> <li>Knowledge of project accounting, budgeting, and cost control guidelines;</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with all company levels;</li> <li>Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and has a strong sense of accountability;</li> <li>Ability to function as a team member as well as work independently;</li> <li>Highly organized, keen attention to detail, and ability to meet established deadlines;</li> <li>Efficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills;</li> <li>Ability to understand assignments from a Macro and Micro perspective;</li> <li>Flexible, resilient, and able to adapt to changing priorities;</li> <li>Experience working in an Enterprise Resource Planning platform, experience with Oracle is a plus; and</li> <li>Familiarity working in a dynamic consulting environment is a plus.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Business, or relevant work experience is required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time);</li> <li>Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;</li> <li>Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;</li> <li>Subject to inside environmental conditions; and</li> <li>Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>By embracing diversity, equity and inclusion we enhance our work environment and drive business success.
