<p>If you are a current Juris Doctor student with an interest in healthcare, intellectual property, or business, then this is a great opportunity for you!</p> <p>Inovalon's Legal and Compliance Department is seeking a <strong>Law Clerk for the 2021 Fall Semester.</strong> The Law Clerk will&nbsp;gain the benefit of working with legal department attorneys while working on impactful legal department initiatives.&nbsp;</p> <p>This is a paid internship position at Inovalon's Bowie, MD office location, with a time commitment of 20 hours/week.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide legal support on department&nbsp;initiatives;</li> <li>Work with attorneys in the legal and compliance teams on matters relating to contracts;</li> <li>Assist with the development and maintenance of legal department processes and procedures;</li> <li>Conduct research and prepare memoranda on legal issues on topics including, telehealth, CMS guidance, HIPAA, intellectual property, employment and HR related issues;</li> <li>Assist on 50-state surveys and special projects and;</li> <li>All candidates to comply with all security policies/procedures.</li> <li class="pf0"><span class="cf0">Maintain compliance with Inovalon</span><span class="cf1">’</span><span class="cf0">s policies, procedures and mission statement;</span></li> <li class="pf0"><span class="cf0">Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon</span><span class="cf1">’</span><span class="cf0">s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and</span></li> <li class="pf0"><span class="cf0">Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.</span></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Current third year student pursuing a Juris Doctor of Law degree</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills;</li> <li>Meticulous attention to detail&nbsp;and quality of work product;</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast paced&nbsp;and dynamic environment;</li> <li>Ability to manage and set&nbsp;priorities effectively;</li> <li>Strong business acumen;</li> <li>History of being a team player and willingness to contribute wherever needed;</li> <li>Demonstrated interest in health care, commercial transactions, compliance and/or intellectual property licensing;</li> <li>A general understanding of healthcare technology platforms is a plus.</li> </ul> <p>Please provide resume, cover letter, transcript and writing sample.&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>By embracing diversity, equity and inclusion we enhance our work environment and drive business success.
