Network Engineering Intern

<p>Inovalon is seeking for a driven intern who is looking to gain insight into and experience with the full scope of IT Systems that make up an enterprise level company.</p> <p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop an understanding of the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals and all other aspects of service;</li> <li>Develop a working knowledge of the assigned department;</li> <li>Help create and standard processes and procedures for all infrastructure, systems, and services;</li> <li>Document, Identify and suggest possible improvements to procedures and monitor;</li> <li>Assist in monitoring and analyze business-critical platforms (including software, hardware, network, and infrastructure) to ensure availability and performance is maintained;</li> <li>Assist in updating monitoring tools when commissioning new infrastructure, services, or applications;</li> <li>Attends unit, departmental, and corporate meetings as assigned;</li> <li>Work collaboratively and develop skills needed to carry out day-to-day work and/or participate in departmental projects;</li> <li>Support current business processes and may assist with implementation of new business processes;</li> <li>Develop ad-hoc analysis and reports as needed for specific department strategies;</li> <li>Completes miscellaneous NOC assignments as assigned;</li> <li>Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;</li> <li>Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and</li> <li>Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Job Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be able to troubleshoot basic issues with systems and application performance;</li> <li>Ability to understand and create Standard Operating Procedures for 24x7 support;</li> <li>Ability to create troubleshooting wiki articles for incident troubleshooting;</li> <li>Ability to configure monitoring and alerting by following policies and best practices;</li> <li>Must possess good oral and written communication skills;</li> <li>Must be goal-oriented and focused;</li> <li>Demonstrates a growth mindset, seeks feedback often and is effective in continuous personal and professional development;</li> <li>Shows punctuality, professionalism, and a positive attitude when completing assignments.</li> <li>Should possess good judgment and decision-making skills; and</li> <li>A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or course work towards Bachelor’s degree related to the assigned department.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time in front of the monitor)</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>By embracing diversity, equity and inclusion we enhance our work environment and drive business success.
