Improving Sepsis Care With AI
Sepsis requires immediate action to treat, but it can come on rapidly and be difficult to detect in time – and the risk of mortality rises by 4-9% for every hour that treatment is delayed.1
However, it’s hard for clinicians to act quickly when they’re stuck looking for the data that may indicate sepsis onset. That’s what Goshen Health aimed to solve with the help of rules-based AI. Using AI, they made their data more actionable for clinicians by monitoring for the clinical elements that would indicate sepsis onset and alerting clinical staff in near real-time.
In this episode, Emily Grooms, Manager of Clinical Informatics at Goshen Health shares more about their AI-powered transformation of sepsis care.
