Inovalon (Nasdaq: INOV), a leading technology company providing advanced cloud-based data-analytics and data-driven intervention platforms to the healthcare industry announced that it has entered into a new multi-year agreement with Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island (Neighborhood), a not-for-profit health plan, to support improved member care and performance for dual-eligible and Affordable Care Act (ACA) commercial member populations.
Inovalon will apply its integrated suite of data aggregation, analytics, and intervention capabilities to identify and resolve gaps in care, assessment, and provider documentation, to improve quality and financial performance. Additionally, Inovalon will deliver business intelligence and reporting that offers granular insight into state-relative comparative data to inform business decisions. These solutions include the seamless integration of electronic health record (EHR) interoperability capabilities that address current challenges facing the healthcare industry.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), by which Neighborhood is accredited, named the health plan the 2014-2015 top-ranked Medicaid provider in Rhode Island and the 5th ranked Medicaid plan in the U.S. The strategic partnership with Inovalon will help Neighborhood meet the overarching goals of the Rhode Island Integrated Care Initiative (ICI) to improve the care and quality of life for elders and adults with disabilities who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid. Additionally, Inovalon will provide support to Neighborhood in meeting the needs of their ACA commercial member population.
“We are a plan that is deeply committed to our members,” stated Francisco Trilla, MD, chief medical officer of Neighborhood. “Partnering with Inovalon strengthens Neighborhood’s ability to assess the health status of our members and work with providers to improve their quality of care.”
“As Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island navigates the evolving healthcare landscape and expands to cover larger populations, Inovalon is pleased to provide advanced analytic solutions and the meaningful insights needed to deliver superior value for their members,” stated President of Inovalon, Bob Wychulis. “We are proud to be their partner.”
Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island is a non-profit HMO that was founded twenty years ago to make sure everyone in the state has access to high-quality, low-cost health care. Neighborhood has been ranked as one of the top ten Medicaid health plans in America for the past eleven years and serves more than 160,000 members. In January 2014, Neighborhood extended its great service, benefits and value to individuals and businesses through HealthSource RI – the state’s health insurance exchange.
