After meeting virtually for the past two years, Inovalon was thrilled to host its 2022 Customer Congress, in person, October 2-4 in Washington, D.C.

Over 160 attendees from more than 85 organizations representing Payer, Provider, Pharmacy, and Life Sciences joined the three-day conference, which featured dynamic Keynote addresses from some of the industry’s top leaders, and insightful breakout sessions from experts across healthcare. Attendees got to experience Inovalon’s leading SaaS solutions in action at the Product Solutions Sky Bar – and had plenty of time to network and catch up with colleagues and their Inovalon partners during the conference’s special events.

In the days ahead of the conference, Hurricane Ian’s path left some unable to join in-person as they dealt with travel challenges and took care of their family, friends, and communities impacted by the storm. In addition to a donation matching program to help support those affected, Inovalon also quickly coordinated to live-stream the conference program to anyone not able to make it to D.C.

Below, we recap Inovalon’s 2022 Customer Congress and its highlights.

Dynamic Keynote presenters speak to healthcare’s progress, and what we need to aim for next

CEO Keith Dunleavy at Customer Congress

Dr. Keith Dunleavy, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Inovalon

Dr. Keith Dunleavy, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Inovalon, kicked off Customer Congress with a Keynote address that reflected on Inovalon’s mission-critical journey to improve the outcomes and economics of healthcare across the entire ecosystem and the millions of patients it serves. He talked about the growing evidence that data – specifically, the ability to share it and analyze it, securely and rapidly – is integral to achieving progress and a truly patient-centric healthcare system. He also shared how having the right quality measures has been instrumental in driving down the cost of healthcare over the past decade.

Attendees heard from some of the federal government’s top healthcare voices. Alex Azar, the 24th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), reminded the audience that our healthcare system needs to keep the patient at the center, and urged us to work to align incentives – especially for patients and providers – as a way to drive down costs and improve outcomes. Dr. Thomas Mason, Chief Medical Officer of the HHS Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, discussed how policy has changed the healthcare infrastructure over the past 20 years – and that it’s not done, with the next steps focused on breaking down data walls that continue to silo organizations.

And it was a special experience for all to get to hear inspiring Keynote addresses from Dr. Mae Jemison, NASA Astronaut and the first woman of color in space, and Roy Spence, CEO and Co-Founder of the Purpose Institute. Dr. Jemison challenged us to recognize the interconnectedness of space travel and the future of healthcare – and how space discovery efforts can fuel healthcare innovation and advancements. Mr. Spence reminded us of the power of purpose – and our distinct purpose working in healthcare – tugging at our heartstrings and making us laugh all along the way.

Highlighting the role of data-driven, patient-centric technologies in improving the outcomes and economics of healthcare

In his Keynote address on day two, Inovalon President Eron Kelly helped connect the dots with a real-world example of how Inovalon’s products and solutions use data and technology to improve the patient experience as they navigate the complexities of our healthcare system:

    • From the ability for Providers to rapidly access relevant patient-specific data and improve treatment at the point of care
    • To enabling Pharmacies to take advantage of SaaS-based workflows that improve time-to-fill, reduce out-of-pocket costs, and support monitoring for adverse outcomes
    • To empowering Payers to create comprehensive member care plans that take into account both risk and quality needs – and then to share that actionable information with providers
    • To providing Life Sciences companies secure, authorized access to relevant, longitudinally linked data to inform the development of new, potentially life-saving drugs
    • And that’s just the beginning…

In addition to thought-provoking Keynotes, attendees joined 20+ breakout sessions over the course of two days.

Across a series of breakout session tracks, attendees heard from healthcare experts serving across the continuum of care. We explored emerging market trends and how best to prepare for the future of the healthcare; we learned how new technologies are enabling healthcare organizations to become more efficient and patient-centric; and we shared our unique insights and experiences through thoughtful dialogue.

Showcasing innovation: Providing customers a first-hand look at Inovalon’s leading technologies

At the Product Solutions Sky Bar, attendees were able to see live demonstrations of Inovalon’s leading software applications for Payers, Providers, Pharmacies, and Life Sciences organizations. To highlight:

    • Our Provider team announced the launch of Inovalon RCM Intelligence, a revenue cycle data visualization software solution that enables healthcare professionals to significantly improve the quality and performance of their organization’s claims processing
    • Customers across the care continuum experienced the power of DataStream, a cloud-based solution that delivers authorized, applicable, longitudinally-linked patient data at the point of care through standards-based APIs that support the HL7® FHIR® standard
    • The Payer team brought Converged Risk Analytics to life – with demonstrations of the game-changing software that empowers health plans to engage with a member holistically, leveraging a single intervention plan that supports both their risk and quality needs
    • Our Pharmacy team showcased its new ScriptMed Specialty Infusion Management module that brings the industry’s most advanced infusion management functionality to ScriptMed Specialty, the market’s most advanced specialty pharmacy solution
